Din't see many this morning, but I did put more feed down, I loaded the surrogator on my trailer last night and when this morning I back the pickup to load the propane tank two flew in and landed right on that spot as I was their. Took the tank to Verdigre to be filled for fridays start of a new 150 quail. So moveing to day to mom's old garden spot for this batch.

Brother in law sent me pictures of his surrogator. He kept having problems with getting holes in his water line going into it. Seems he set up his game cam and caught pack rats chewing on it and the surrogator. He leaves his out in his pasture next to the well. Does about 2 batches a year, same with the pheasants.

143 throrwed out 7 as of this afternoon, wondering if feed & water is the main problem of the 4 posibilitys I know are posible? Feed maybe should be finner ground? water I do not know how I could improve on what I got, just maybe some don't get enough? Standing to close to a cold wall to long? or just die as thats what they do?

June 3 Quail 132 Pheasants 125
Gave quail a spray mist and two plates of dirt to scratch it on them to get their oil glands working also opened up the entire aurrogator to them and turned the themosat to 3 from 5
Pheasants have drank their 1st 5 galons of water soon it will be that a day or nearly.
