Still have all but 15 in the house, Started to mist spray water on them two days now and haven't lost any sence I started to do that. That was something I learned reading the serrogator book that I had not ever heard or ben told about. My tub is running out of room so when is this weather going to warm up? I'm most eagerly awaiting to move them.

Puting a thermomitor around in that serrogater is mading to say the least, I don't know how their going to survive??? seems they will cook or frezze to death to me. Book says: Start one week one, temperature dial should be on 5 end of week one set temp from 5 to 3 end of week 2 change temp from 3 to 1 end of week 3 if night time temps are consistenty above 60 turn off propane & remove heater assembly. I still do not know were to set it other than by derections and that is 110++ under the heater and around 70 by the out side wall today That was a #2 setting today, I know under the heater is always 110++ and to hot from 2 up, so will the birds stay out in a warm but liveable circle? Right now I don't want to set it over 1 but that leaves the rest pretty cool.

Iwouldthink they will find the comfort zone they want... You did pick a bad time to start, of course any other year you might have been OK.....

Is a saragator kind of like a slow cooker. Oh well your probably just getting them ready to eat so they might as well learn about slow cooking. As my friend from Nort Dakotor would say, Mighty Tasty.

126 - 6 = 120 this evening, good thing I don't have hair or I would likely pull it out trying to figure just what I could do to better the situation. all but one was laying out side the heat dome, the one under it was dead center & crispy good. I think dehydation maybe one isue? I do have a watering troth in as well as the drip system, it was dry this eve and though I did see a few use the drip it was the 1st time I saw any use it, not shure that many have caught on to the drip yet?

108 - 5 = 103 at 1:00 PM thats about one an hour, turned the heat up to just over 3 as I have found only 2 under the heater were it is way to hot, so my thinking is to try and reachout with the heat more is my only way to go. One was standing stiff by the feeder so I moved it to the heat. At this age & younger quail have no sence at to cold and can wander off and just drop over realy fast. but aleast they are not bunching up under the heater were it is way to hot as well. Talked to Barney and likely is just to early & cold for the system to work well?

103 - 103 = 103 no losses between 1:00 and 8:30 pm, maybe I'm learning to run the termostat ? hopeing thats it. Lesson maybe is to throw away the thermomitor and read the book only, as with it it would seem they would cook or freeze. However for the last 7 hours they all lived. I really do hope I get this thing to work for us.

Bounce, can you put a fan near there to move the heat around? I've never seen a serogator, so, I'm guessing completely blind.

There's a reason why.....

103 Birds this morning also, no dead. Maybe I'm learning?? Likely the moveing of birds was stressful and I likely added more stress than nessasary by the system being all new to me, but I still have a good number of birds left and hope I can keep most of them now till release?
