well i finaly got some free time and went out and shot the stryker today with the new to me FX-II 4x pistol scope. i am pleased to say i had none of the critical eye position issues i had with the burris a while back. pistol shot well even though it's been raining all day (light drizzle mostly) and 35 deg. even my son was able to hit the target out at 100 yrds, he had not shot this yet so i was both happy and impressed. more fun to come over time i am sure. Red, you're gonna like this one.

The fixed 4 power will be near perfect. I used an old swift premier series scope in 4x which i switched off to my 22 pistol last year.
I now have my lifetime carry permit so the old contender is getting dusted off and will find time in the field this fall. (And in the new pickup truck I need) Most likely it will be the old 35 rem round but maybe 7-30 waters. I also need to pick up a scope but I think i have a 2.5 in the shack somewhere. The 223 barrel needs a scope also. tc used to make quick detachable rings and scope bases that you could use in multiple barrels. I believe the adjustment was in the base. Switch scopes all you want.
Get out and shoot that striker while it is still cold. Whole different feel with gloves on than off.

If you bring the striker with you with the scouts fire it for them at about dusk or dawn. I bet they talk about that fireball for the rest of there lives.
I am still thinking about the under armour cold weather gloves for my 1894 marlin. The lever is just to small for big gloves. I wore a pair and found i could load ruger 11 mags with them on something that most of my gloves will not do.
