Quail 130 plan is to release them monday after dinner while Tony is still hear as he goes back to CA. on tuesday, we let the pheasants all go last friday, My daughters kids loved that and are looking forward to the quail release.
Total release for year so far. Pheasants: 217 Quail: as of tomarow 355
I think we will still do one more batch of quail this year, that should get them up around 475? for the year or ruffly around 700 birds total for this year, hopefuly. Now if only 200 hens from last year produced 6 pheasants each that would make around 1400 pheasants plus for this years hunting?? Better than 13 birds when I started 4 years ago lol. Lot of ifs in their though lol.

This afternoon we will release 130 quail the surrogator slow way, through a small opening at one end of the pen. It can take about 2 hours to compleat this way. One also puts feed out on the ground a few yards away from the hole with water. When one can do it this way it is best as to opening up the top of 1/2 the pen and flushing them. We close off 1/2 the pen with a devider.

Thanks, Bounce! I really appreciate that. Be a few years before that can happen, though. I'd love to see D-D's bird machine, too!
