All right I admit I not the sharpest tack in the box when it come to audio equipment!(no audiophile here) I bought a stereo for my Blazer today and installed it. Have to admit I'm more than pleased.
What puzzles me is the darn thing came with a remote? Now if I'm sitting in the drivers seat and can reach the controls. Why do I need a remote??

It's for when you're hanging out with your buds at the local hangout with your new "system" bumping, you can control it from across the parking lot. Or, for when you got a hottie in the back seat... Jabba

You bought something I've never owned. I'm 53 years old and have never spent a nickle on any audio equipment for a vehicle.

You bought something I've never owned. I'm 53 years old and have never spent a nickle on any audio equipment for a vehicle. Pretty rare for me too Scott!! I think this is the second stereo I have bought and I've been driving legally since 1967. When Bailey gave me the Blazer he said he wanted the Pioneer stereo. So when he took it out I found myself lost without a radio. I had learned to rely on my AM radio for traffic reports driving into Des Moines every day.I sure did not need a Sony Xplode stereo that put out 208 watts (52 wats per channel) and 100 db! But when I went looking I found that most on the shelf no longer have AM and since I listen mostly to talk radio, this was the least expensive choice. It did have an AUX input so I can plug in my Ipod Touch( for my own music)(won that in a sales promotion, I would never have paid for one) and cd player for the same reason.

I guess you have an excuse Jim. I do listen to the radio, it would get boring without one. I've just always had a vehicle with whatever came with it.

Next thing we hear he's gonna be all slumped down in the seat with a ball cap of sideways. Pounding out the "BUMP" music on his system. Gonna buy some 22" spinners for the Blazer, and get some bling for his grille (Teeth). Pretty soon he'll be shootin his handgun sideways too! I am really laughing at that image... Jabba

Jabba I'm laughng too! Trust me! It ain't gonna happen! ;D ;D That's probably what I get for making fun of these kids who's wattage output on their stereos are mutiples of their IQ?Course I could really freak these kids out with some Johnny Horton's "Battle of New Orleans", Marty Robbins, Marty Stewarts Live at the Reiman, or some of the Celtic music I have on the Ipod, it's a pretty eclectic mix.

Man, that reminds me of a story... In 1991 I was in the Navy, and I was training at a nuclear power prototype in upstate new york. I had a 1993 F-150 with a "System". And it was a LOUD and BOOMY one too. a "Earschplittenzeloudenboomer" of car stereos. I used to put big house speakers in the back of the truck for parties too. I rolled up to the post office one day, and there were 30 or so people on the sidewalk singing "Give Peace a Chance". This was during gulf war 1. Well, me being the military man I was, and obnoxious on top of that I parked RIGHT in front of them and cranked up Milo Trumley's Kick Ass USA. It dispersed the crowd in very short order. Jabba
