Maybe one of you guys will have a handle on this. I have an older (no longer made) steel 4x12 Weaver scope. It works well again after sending it to Weaver in El Paso, Tex. for repairs. I really liked the V model Weavers and thought they were one of the best. Unfortunately when I mounted it on a rifle today, after a couple years sitting in my gun cabinet, I found it will only go up to 7 power before getting firmly stuck. Is there a way to get it successfully unstuck so it'll go all the way to 12 power? I don't know a great deal about scopes so would appreciate any help you can lend to avoid another trip to El Paso. This scope has been around enough to qualify for its own Frequent Flyer Awards. Thanks.

I think that one's gotta go somewhere for repair, Cal. If you try to force it, you'll shear off a pin in there, and really screw things up. If you try to take it apart and fix it, you'll break the seals and lose the nitrogen filling. Both of those are bad (very bad)!

OK Scott, did you do that Marty Robbins song from memory or did you have to listen to it again?
Good thing you stopped before he got shot.

I did that part from memory... ...Okay, I "pretty much' knew the words thru that part but listened to make sure I got it right. I couldn't hit the high notes when the song went on, so I quit.... ;D ;D

Good Job 54. It has been a long time since I could hit the high notes so I don't even try anymore. It is kind of neat listening to those songs again, ones that tell a story. I have a Johnny Horton greatest hits that I like to listen to also. I guess if we want to hear songs with a story now we have to listen to C & W cause the "rap crap" sure doesn't do that. (I can't understand the words if it did so I guess it might.)

Here awhile back, I was supossed to go see Marty Robbins up at Sunset Park over around Oxford PA. But he up & died that year. His son Ronny finished his dads shows out after his death. The man was as good as Marty, but never wanted to follow music as a carear, just to fullfill his fathers shows already listed.

Marty was a real Renaissance Man... Besides being a common sight at the top of both the country and pop charts for over two decades, he had a pretty successful movie career, and got into racing pretty seriously too. He raced midgets, modifieds and late models before finally graduating to Grand Nationals (today's Nextell Cup) where he raced 35 races and had 6 top 10 finishes. He raced in a Cup race in Atlanta just a month before his death in 1982....
