What do most of you do in the Spring and Summer to train your dogs ?

I use an ocassional pigeon to keep them looking, and holding for points. I try to play frisbee with them a few times a week for cardio. And when I have the quad home, they chase that with me some. The frisbee I use is a Kong frisbee and is the best investment I have made with them.
I also know... that I am not the BEST dog trainer, and not the most diligent, but my shorthairs WILL help you get birds. My older dog sometimes takes an hour or two to figure out what the birds we're hunting are doing... but then he usually helps you get a limit pretty quick.
My trouble is... I don't have wild birds to hunt very often. I keep SWEARING I am gonna come out west to where the birds are... but it never seems to come around.

Birds is the problem in this area also and I have raised quail for the last few years and works out well. Quail take little room and lots less mess then the pigeons.
