I know we were talking about this call on a different thread, but since there are a couple members looking for one I thought I'd start this. This is the call that I have and works great. Notice that is is all black and has a picture of a squirrel on it I found an all black call on ebay last week and got all excited. It came today and I do not recomend it at all. It's no different from the others that are on the market. So there's 10 bucks down the drain. It appears to be an older call than the one I have. This does not have a squirrel picture on the front. Again, this is the wrong call. Likewise, this is not any better than other brands on the market. Now here's the kicker. They apparently make at least one more model over the years. I have not seen, heard, nor tried this call. Notice the different white markings in stacked sentance form Buy at your own risk. Again, the only one that I have tried and liked is the first picture - the one with the squirrel on it. Your miliage may vary if there is some other type of inbetween model with the same picture. But if it happens to be the exact same thing as I have, you'll love it The alternative is to buy a random brand and give it a try. Don't buy the wooden lohman call though. Look for something that is "double action" meaning that it will squeak when you push it down and pull it up. Also look for a whistle piece at the front of the call.

It seems that all to often, when you get a product that you really like, they go and change it. .... I had a P.S. Olt squirrel call that I bought in '65 or '66. Loved that thing. Went and lost it after using it for 10-12 years. I'll be damned if the Olt calls didn't change, the bellows was different. Tried 2 or 3 others but never found one as good as the original.

SQUIRREL CALL:
I like the looks of the OLT and have never seen one before. I have looked for reds around most normal places i wander about in and don't see any of the call above.
I see duck goose and crow, Varmints (of which I have and use several.) And of course the countless numbers of grunt tubes. The only tree rat ones were plastic little bellews the won't last a good hunt.

My Olt had a light red bellows and a black barrel..... This could be just like it...."Click"If I was still able to hunt, I'd take a chance. The best thing about it was the bellows, hard to explain but it was just easier to feather to make softer sounds and easier to make rapid barks. It was more controllable. I always figured it was the rubber used in the bellows.

My squirrel call is a button call, a convex disk with holes that you chirp with. I'll dig it out and send Red a picture. Had it about 20 years and used it a lot when early season hunting.
