Hey dovehunter, my 223 Handi- Rifle has a pretty long throat. I had to seat the bullets out pretty far to get a load that would shoot well. My gun shot patterns with factory ammo, Remington UMC 55 grain FMJ, not groups. But 55 grain Noslers seated close to the lands tightened it right up.

I loaded up what I refer to as a "pressure series" this afternoon which consisted of Sierra 55 gr. HPBT Game Kings over from 23.5 to 25 gr. of H-335 (five rounds for each incremental powder increase). I used new W-W cases and CCI-SR primers. Hopefully I can go to the range tomorrow and check it out. My previous efforts employed IMR-3031 and the results weren't that great - the horizontal wasn't bad but each of the four charge weights (but the first) resulted in vertical stringing. I have high expectations for H-335 based on the feedback from you guys.

Powder alone won't make up for other problem. ;D Sorry, just had to add that in. Good luck in your per suite of small groups.

That's great Dovehunter... Glad you got a keeper, and that good accuracy was fairly easy to come by.

[glow=red,2,300] "Another thing that can possibly do this is to come up with a max load that works great in 20-30 degree weather and then use that same load on a 100 degree day. That can really shoot the pressures through the roof. But if you set up your load in normal 75-80 degree temps like I did I have not seen a problem.
Good point Bill about the outside temp's effecting the handloads.
