For a short period of time each June, the treetops resemble the hickory trees of early September. For states that have summer squirrel seasons, it's a prime chance to kill a mess of them before the squirrels are forced into green walnuts during the hot and humid summer. By that time, you're forced to hunt the early mornings only and deal with isolated squirrels. You kill one here, then you kill one there, and before you know it it's 10am and 90 degrees.
But this weekend was a great time - cool weather and no wind (for once). I pretty much shot out my favorite spring spot in two mornings. I'll give it a try at another location next weekend, but the frenzy may very well be over by then.

Red I did'nt Need that! Your mention of Mulberry reminds me there's a bunch of mullberry trees in my fence along the alley that need trimmed back again before the impede traffic through the alley. ;D One of my most hated chores every summer.

Red, on a serious note, i got to think with all the rain we have had the trees should be just chocked full of those berrys.
