Jack (my yellow lab) was messing in the ditch and running the fields a couple weeks ago and got a sharp stick that ran up between his toes and broke off (which I didn't know until the vet told me)... He didn't limp, he didn't favor it, he just kept going like normal ... during a routeen inspection of his feet I noticed this little hole between his toes and wondered what it was ... it started to worry me a little so I figured I'd take him to the vet... Any way, the vet took a tool and ran it up in the little hole and felt something but he couldn't grab it to remove it.. so he had to operate on it... the stick was about 2" long ... I don't know how the dog operated with that stuck in his paw... After 3 week of recoop time, with medications, pain killers, a "doggie cone" and bandage changes, he's fine now... but I just got the vet bill.... $3175... I DAMN NEAR FELL OUTTA MY FREEKIN CHAIR... and there was a little note with the bill that said I could pay it IN TWO PAYMENTS!!! Isn't that nice? Geeze, I had my gall bladder removed and it didn't cost that much ...

Yes this is why when my stud male was hit this last week with the neighbor & his tractor I went strate for the shotgun and not the vet. Their is darn little thats worth a vet bill in todays word. Yeah they are good but but not worth it, lucky for the vet's city folk think they are their kid. Works for them!!!!!!
