ok for those of you who saw my thread two weeks ago where my son narrowly excaped a trip to the ER by not getting bit by the copperhead he stepped over, and i thought i broke the spell of going to the ER with one of the midgets every summer, my dog decided to get into the act. as i type my wife is heading in to St. Louis from her sisters place in the country with our lab headed to the animal hospital so they can rmove the hook she ate. it's gonna take eveything in my to not ask them why they wheren't watching out for the dog because when we fish it is the big thing on my mind as the same thing happened to my sisters dog years ago and i hound my kids about it everytime they fish. so as i am sitting here at work they are headed in to town. if one of the kids would have swallowed the hook at least my insurance would have covered that. rumor has it though they did catch some nice fish yesterday and today.

it's going to get ugly guys ($$ wise) they couldn't get it out the easy way (see afordable) so she is getting cut on. that's a friggen $1,400.00 fish hook! a few more dollars more and i just donate her to a family of fillipino's for a stir fry. at this point i'm slam'n vodka till morning.

Jim ~ Don't be so hasty dude. I have a great recipe. It will cut on the money spent for both Vet bills & shippin' charges to sent it to the Phillipeans. ;D

Don't feel bad Jim, Molly just got over a bout of chew toy desease. We had bought her what was supposed to be one of those indestructable hard rubber chew toys. Figured well she can chew on that thing and maybe leave everything else alone. She ATE it. She then was having trouble passing it and had an real bad upset stomach. I just staked her out on the lot next to me what has a lot of Brome grass on it. She went to eating the grass like a cow. One hour of that and she started puking. Guess what, it all came up. No problem passing anything anymore. ;D I dread the day that she finds a fishhook though. One of my other dogs did that and the vet told me to leave it. Said the stomach acid would eat it up. Didn't have any problems with that as the dog didn't drop over dead.

well bill i just got some interesting info on the whole event. i had assumed she just picked it up off the ground. no, she was swimming and went down to get it. friggin lab thinks she's a bass or bluegill. i toyed with the idea of leaving it in there, but if it tried to pass and got the intestines cut up then it gets even more pricey. anyway our vacation money just took a major hit. they didn't cut her open until late last night so they want to keep her through today and we'll get her tomorrow. so let me ask you guys this, is a 75lb dog on 6lb test any sort of record? ;D

man that cut is 6"- 8" long. my pooch is doing nothing but laying around trying to figure out what the "F" happened to her. last she knows is she was as happy as a pig in shit, swimming in a lake and running fields with the other dog and then she wakes up feeling like crap. we did get the hook, my son wants to use it this weekend at a friends place we're going to (the dog is not going this time) because he thinks it'll be "Lucky". Well he'll be lucky if i don't throw his butt into the lake!

well the 25 staples came out yesterday and they gave us the green light to let her be a full time dog again. she has been going bonkers these last few days wanting to play and we've been trying to keep her more on the relax side. the next hook she swallows though is on her.
