Do you know of any guys that train beagles in the area? My dad's looking for a dog 1-1 1/2 years old and ready to roll.

ok i called this guy and it doesn't look good. his dad raised hunting beagles for years but got out of it some time back. i thought he might still have some contacts but it does't look like it. he is going to call his dad but he was not upbeat aout the possibility of a prospect. i also posted something on missouriwhitetails as there was someone just a few months ago that gave away just such animal. if i had only known then, oh well i'll keep my eyes and ears peeled.

I talked to my dad this afternoon and it looks like he's halfway serouis. He's like me --- look around, look around, back out at the last minute... ;D He's been talking alot lately b/c he hunts with a guy that has two dogs. He figures two years of hunting with them would be enough to make a good dog. And he's probably right. I looked all over the internet and didn't realize how hard this was going to be I looked for about two hours and found two places - Warrenton (which looks expensive and it was an old site) and Pomme Terre (which I've heard of before). There used to be a guy out in Troy but he's probably 75 or so if he's even still alive. I don't even know if he would be in business b/c he got busted killing a bunch puppies and breeding the dogs too close. I did look on Missouriwhitetails a little bit but didn't see anything. I think dad's looking at 200 dollars or so as being the max (which to me sounds too cheap for todays market). I think once he finds two or three places and asks for prices he'll be a bit more flexable. thanks
