I went on line looking for a new Gyp Beagle... now, I found a few that sound and look good (pictures)... but how in the world do you trust something like that... I mean, look what happened here with that Clyde charactor... The breeder I am interest in is in New England... how would you check references from 400 miles away?

Hey there bubba ~
I know that there is going to be a bad case of Clydeitose inflicting us for a long time to come. It's hard to trust folks you have known for along time & in person much less folks you can only talk to from a computer box. Something you may be able to do is to check on the the fellers web page & most folks have a referance page on there & the one's that don't may be able to offer referaces or some type of feedback if you were to request them. They shouldn't get irretated at the request if they are lagitt. Good luck with your puppy quest.

Yeah... ask for a list of references. I did with my GSP's and was impressed with the people I talked to. Everyone LOVES to talk about their dog.

Better Business Bureau might be a spot to look too. It's online so you don't even have to call. www.bbb.org/
