I was watching a cooking show the other day and a guy was grilling using the wood pellets for heating stoves instead of charcoal. If I remember right the show was about a rib BBQ contest. He said they heated up faster and hotter; but than he said something about your really turning your grill into a oven to cook w/ . Has anyone tried using wood pellets to grill with??

Well sort of maybe kinda? I have always used Kingswood bricquetes and have found it hard to get an even heat. I have been using Royal Oak wood charcoal. Not briquets but real wood chunk charcoal and it's great stuff! Heats fast, even and burns clean. Odd though I have to buy it in Newton at the Walmart. The Walmart I work at does not get it.

These are them pressed pellets that you burn in corn/wood pellet stoves...... Although they probully burn about the same as what your using. ;D
