The type of squirrel we have is the red squirrel, normally we dont have problems with them, their numbers arent big!!! I now them as robbers off bird eggs and young birds, their protected by law!!! (holland & germany), but i now some of them are killed one the road.
I now they could carry rabies disease, so i wouldn't be happy if one bite me!!!!!!!!

I don't know --- if you hit it with a round nose you may just piss him off even more !!!
(That should stir the pot a little more) GRIN

I don't know --- if you hit it with a round nose you may just piss him off even more !!! (That should stir the pot a little more) GRIN Now Red Ya know that can't be true! That old man surely had a big round crutch tip , and plain beat it bloody to death. I've dropped many steers that weighed around 1200 lbs and even more hogs that went 200 lbs and everyone fell to a .22 round nosed solid. Yet to see the head shot squirrel walk away either and a lot of them fel to .22 shorts.

You're right about the head shot - they do go down. Where I have problems at is chest hits. The only problem with head shots is the occasional shot where you hit him in the nose or jaw --- they ussually are pretty frisky when they hit the ground.
