Things happen...you accidently walk right into someone's setup, two people accidently end up with a turkey inbetween them and you have to compete a little for it (which is never a good thing), etc. I understand crowding on public land and that's frustrating but it's also fine.
But when it's wed. morning and there are only two people on 4000 acres and some jackass insists on following you around all morning in the pouring rain...COME ON !!!
I get back 1/4 mile from the road right where I want to be at 530 and I'm waiting to hear a bird so I can go to him. So some guy does a owl call and the bird gobbles (no big deal, right? He didn't know I was there). Well I can see him walking through the field trying to get to where I was standing so I shined the flashlight at him and he stopped and gave an owl call (the way he was acting, he definatly saw me). So the guy continues to walk in on me and enters the woods 100 yards from me on the next ridge.
I entered the woods and had the turkey gobbling right in my lap. He flew down and was comming towards me and all of a sudden the guy trys to steal the bird by making a whole bunch of loud calls which scares the bird in the other direction...which pissed me off...
So I followed the bird and got set up again and he was comming...until the guy followed me and tryed to steal the bird again...which spooked it again with the agressive calling.
So get set up on the bird farther down the ridge and I get so close that I couldn't get decoys set up. I wasn't playing around no more.
Now the bird answered but he was so call shy he wouldn't come in. By this time dumbass over there snuck in again and started calling.
All of a sudden another bird answered me and came on in. It was working perfect. He was comming and gobbling at me no matter what dumbass did. You could hear what sounded like a car engine idoling and he let out a gobble right on top of me. And there he was 35 yards away but I couldn't get a clear shot. All I need is for him to see the decoys...oh yeah I didn't put the decoys out because I was F'ing around with the other guy. So my bird couldn't find any girlfriends so he met up with the other bird.
Now all of a sudden both birds cross the ridge and go right to the other guy.
NOW I'M THE DIRTIEST PLAYER IN THE GAME AND I DON'T TAKE BS.
I stand up and run through the woods straight at the other guy busting brush and cursing like a madman to bust up the birds.
I get to him and kick one of his hardshell decoys about 10 yards and I'm kicking up leaves and yelling.
He never did say anything. I guess he knew better.
