I love to hunt them in the spring. I don't hunt them in the fall- we have a fall season, but I guess I'm just thinking about deer in the fall.

Since losing the private land, I just spring turkey hunt. Honestly, I just hunt b/c I like to hear the gobble. If I had private ground, I'd probably fall hunt again. I'd rather squirrel hunt in the fall

I hate to admit it, but I've killed more birds in the fall while deer hunting than I have in the spring when gobbler hunting exclusively. I still like to go out there in the spring and talk to them though. That's where I'll be this coming Saturday morning for our spring season opener.

I only hunted them a couple years in the spring. All the birds I have ever killed were in the Fall. To me, spring time is fishing season, just not in the mood to hunt. Besides, I just can't stand to kill one of those poor old Toms when he thinks he is going to get a little jump... ...I mean, put yourself in his shoes. It'd be like many a night that I staggered up the steps to some apartment I'd never been in before, all fired up, ready for some lovin'...and... BANG !!! ...shot right in the face as I walk through the door. If I'm goin' to die during that act, I want it to be after, or during, but not just before... ;D ;D I do enjoy going out and hearing them and watching them in the spring. Just not hunting them...

I'm just once in a while. I have gone out more in the spring with just my call and no gun than with one. They are a blast to call in [when it works] but for $20 bucks I can buy one heck of a fine turkey in the store with no hassel

And even if I did keep him, what is he missin', it's not like a fish has sex, the other sex doesn't even have to be in the area when they do their thing... ;D I'm just once in a while. I have gone out more in the spring with just my call and no gun than with one. I guess that is why I hunted 'em with a revolver in the fall for so many years, didn't really want to shoot one.

sew a hen decoy on the back of your vest, crawl around on all fours, and give a little wiggle scott.
hold on tight
