thought i would post a picture of the first turkey call i ever used. it was given to me by the guy that made it and all i know is it is at least 30 yrs old. called my first bird up with it. doesn't work consistantly well but when you get the thing chalked up just right and the striker placed just so, it gives a realy raspy hen call.most folks take one look at it and laugh but back in '83 it was all i had (the guy that made it gave it to me to use and told me to keep it.) i called my first and largest bird with it on that first turkey hunt in '83. don't use it anymore but it proudly sits on display at my house.

Ah, the good old days... ....A lot of people don't realize that there was a day when we had only calls made of wood or slate, our shotguns were glossy blue, and our camo outfit meant we didn't wear a red hat.... ;D

In the true spirit of the hunt when one is to use that call, one really needs to be packing a model 12 or a 97. guess i'll have to go out and buy one sometime. i could slum it with a older vintage ithaca 37
