Red; I was lookin' in the Cabela's Bible. They sale a bandoleer holster that goes across your chest for a 500 S&W that looks like it would work for you. Its in the cowboy shooting section. Maybe your ole man could check it out for ya.

If there are legal issues with the conversion cylinder, it should be classified by the government as an FFL item - which it is not. i'm definatly not interested in one for this gun, but rather pointing out it's availability. I think it would be much more usefull in a 1858.
DD, I looked at that big 500 holster a few months ago but didn't look too close because at the time I was not getting a walker. Definatly worth further consideration.
I'm at work at can't look at pictures much less cabelas Is this the black shoulder harness for about 50 bucks?

The first one, which I think is the one you recommended, has a 8 3/8 barrel. Grant you 9 inches isn't much more, but it does appear the holster is sewn up. Almost have to buy it first and then see if it fits. The second one would fit, but almost too big because it's made for a scoped pistol. Not sure... I need to go to cabelas anyways to pick up accessories and components anyways. I'll have to take a look this weekend.

For about 40 dollars to my door, this would be hard to beat. Most of the time you just throw the belt accross your shoulder. If you were to wear it on the hip, it is meant to wear on the right hip but draw with the left hand. I could do that or perhaps rotating it around to the left hip and see what kind of angle there is for a right hand cross draw

would help a little with rain too. Of course you're better off to wrap it in a trashbag if you're going to do some serouis hunting.

;D ;D ROFLMAO ..... I have quite the picture in my mind now. I can see Red, soaking wet, trying frantically to get the Walker out of a garbage bag as a trophy buck gets closer and closer. The question in my mind is... does the rustling of the bag scare the deer.... or..... does he get the Walker out of the bag only to drop it in the mud?...... ;D ;D I'm sure there are lot's of scenarios that might develop. It is always a big event here on HF when you get a new gun Red, I can't wait for all the stories...

Hey, wait a minute... a trash bag, some duct tape... Red, you can make your own holster! Think of the money you'll save!

You guys laugh now, just wait till your guns go pop in the downpour. When it's pouring that hard, you have two options 1. stay indoors 2. protect the muzzleloader by any means possible and worry about getting it out of the case/holster/trashbag when the time comes. I've brought a waterproof case out in the woods before with the rifle in it. Also wrapped in a poncho a few times. Have to do what you have to do.
Noah wrapped his muzzleloader up in a trashbag and duct taped it during the big flood. After 40 days of straight rain, his gun went off no problem when he killed the last dodo bird. True story, it's in the bible - look it up - It's in the King Curtis version.
