Frame...well you know what I mean I can get one of these Walkers for about $250-275. Haven't decided if or when I would get it. Nonetheless, I thought I'd just stir up some trouble - although it is an honest question.

Re-member Red you will be removeing the barrel for cleaning & loading every 5or 6 shoots and have to wedge it back the same each time, bound to shoot lose a little at sometime. and a scoped rifle would carry and shoot better, you would be draging over 5# their BIG John

Red would use smokeless powder and we'ld be looking for a new host for the site!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I gotta give you credit Red, you think of things that a normal person couldn't concoct in a nightmare.... ;D ;D Is LSD pretty common in your neck of the woods? ;D ;D No. Meth and Coke is. Ok, so why ask the question about scoping a blackpowder revolver. 1. It's friggin dead in here 2. From what I read, only the dragoons and the walker are "capable" of truely deer hunting with --- as opposed to use for just a finishing shot. The point of impact between the walker with a 20 grain target charge and a walker with a 60 grain hunting charge is probably quite a bit. Now I don't know if you can burn 60 grains of powder in a 9in barrel but I image most of it would be burned. These are obvouisly non-adjustable sights. It's just an idea, but I would consider using the low charges with irons and high charges with the scope for hunting. It's also more of a tinkering thing... 3. Do you really want to hear me complain and go on a tyraid on the respectable Uberti company when I royally screw up the front and rear sights.

Well.....I guess you are right..... it is dead in here. But other than that.....errr..... I'm just confused. If a guy, for whatever strange reason, had a hankerin' to scope a cap & ball six-gun, why not pick one with frame... ??

If you want to hunt deer with a BP revolver- and scope it, it seems to me the Ruger Old Army would be the gun to look for. I'm just guessing, but I suspect the scope would pick up a lot of crud every shot- enough to be a PIA. I won't even get into aesthetics, drug use, and inbreeding

The problem with the framed guns is this 1. A 1858 only goes up to about 30-35 grains of powder compared to 50-60 of the walker/dragoons 2. Ruger is expensive You should know I was going to say that

Red:
Can you still buy Schlitz? I haven't seen it around here in years. That used to be my favorite beer.

You sure can ;D It's my favorite beer too It's the same price as busch or natural light but I just like the shock factor when everyone wonders what the heck I'm drinking ;D You also don't have to worry about people taking it because it's pretty rough after the first sip Schlitz is owned by Pabst (also the makers of old milwalkee, old style, strohs, schafer, and olympia). All of these beers are great if you're into that taste. These are a list of distributors in Virginia that deal with Schlitz. You can call one of them and ask what stores they deliver to.
