I'm always a day late and few hundred dollars short. Just by the time that I'd decided not to hate inlines and actually have considered getting one - they got to get everyone in the "break open" craze. I like the bolt actions

I agree, but we lost the fight. Plain and simple... With society the way it is now, there is no going back to traditional caplock or flintlock guns. IMHO there's not even a niche market big enough for them (I know you eastcoast and nebraska guys will disagree b/c there is where you are)...perhaps the cowboy craze will dawn a little more interest in the trapper / pioneer genre.
My personal view about my particular situation is this When everyone still used traditional guns, I could kill deer with one every year on public land. Now there are a lot of VERY ignorant people roaming around the woods that irritate the hell out of me - they don't respect you, your location, they still hunt, and in general they just spook the hell out of the deer. Gone is the day for me when you could have 3 or 4 chances at killing a deer with my iron sites caplock. Now because of all the people - you have ONE chance per year it seems. And I just can't take that risk too much longer or else I'm going to continue to not get ANY deer at all. On busy public land, I just have no other option if I want one deer a year - a scope, better accuracy past 50 yards, and a little bit more of moisture protection are just something that would help take advantage of the ONE chance I'll have.

He needs that water proofing because he lives in Missouri. ;D It is a bit on the wet side down there. Something I wouldn't know a thing about up here anymore. Heck we had a blizzard and got 1/2" of snow.
