How many of you guys shoot black powder cartridge rifles. I have owned them in the past but right now I don't have one but just today put one on hold with the intentions of buying it. It is a .45-90 Pedersoli Sharps compition. Or a very close version of that model anyway. Mid Range sights, 34" barrel Oct to Round. Double set triggers, pistol grip, and a shotgun butt. I have been watching for one used for a long time and it's finally happened. Now all I have to do is figure out what I want to get rid of.

Well it looks like the Gehia and the 6.5 Arisaka, and the Rem 660 Mohawk are going to have to go. Maybe worth a bit more than I'm getting but its easier to sell than to come up with the cash outright. Grrrrrrrr. Dang I hate selling guns. Nice part about it is that there is a large group of guys in our area that shoot BPC guns and I will be able to find a place that I can shoot long range with it.

The gun came home with me today. It cost me my Arisaka, Gehia, and my Rem 660 but I got two sets of reloading dies and 200 once fired .45-90 brass, a punch for cutting milk carton wads with the gun. That sucker is heavy. The 34" oct to round barrel is going to take some getting use to but its not much worse than my .58 Cal ML so it shouldn't take long. I'm looking at getting a drop tube and powder dump for BP so I can start reloading those 538 Grain bullets for it. Good thing it has a shotgun butt or I know it would hurt after a few rounds. One of the guys at work has a 1400 yd range so finding a place to shoot won't be a problem. Its set up with gongs every 100 yds. He practices shooting at all the ranges and shot his antalope this year at 885 yds. First shot it went and lay down and the second shot finished it. They tell me that if you hit an antalope thru the lungs it just goes and lays down and then its easy to finish them. I'm hoping that this gun will kill me a Buffalo this next year and possibly an elk and deer.

Thats my thoughts Donnie. I'm trying to get it ready for this deer season and just see how it does. Might not happen though as I want to replace the sights with a set of seoul sights with the micrometer right left adjustment and the adjustable appaturs. Their a bit spendy so we will see. The one on it is a piece of crap and I might try seeing how it shoots with it first as their is no rear sight on it. Its one of the long range models and has the ladder sight only.

LOL his grandkids usually hunt that property and about the only thing left for me to hunt would be the backside of Toms and that I would have to be careful on as its Res ground. His grandkids usually hunt the back side though which would leave me the front side. Naaa too busy for my tastes. I probably will hunt the pine ridge or maybe Halsey but then I haven't made up my mind yet what I'm doing. If I do hunt there it would be ML season.
