Hello Sebastian... ;D Glad you found us. This site is brand new, and has no ties to the old site, other than it's ever growing membership from the old site. That, the members, after all, IS the most valuable asset of this, or the old site. Unfortunately, the owner of the old site, has chosen to ignore all attempts by many people to contact him. So, we have to assume that the old site is gone...Forever... But with the help of all the great members who are joining here every hour now, this site will soon feel like home again. Welcome once again Sebastian..

Just wonder btw, Scott.....is Bullseye in a very busy bussines recently....Or maybe sick / in a hospital etc - so that he didn't response your calls? It's strange to me that Bullseye, as the owner/adm of the forum didn't react if his site is not working?....It should be a problem, i guess?

We don't know anything about Bullseye. I, and others, have sent him repeated e-mails. He has not, to my knowledge, responded to anyone.
I hope that he is not sick, or worse, but it has been a period of months now with no response. Surely, by now, someone could have responded to one of the many e-mails.
I have to assume that, since it appears that the bill's were no longer being paid, that the sites shutting down was intentional.I would welcome any information that indicates otherwise.

sure is a shame that someone couldn't get into the old site for a short time to salvage some of the more informative threads that was there. some threads had some just too good info. in them. it'll have to just get rehashed here on this one. and with idiots like me around to ask a ton of questions we'll get our resorces posted up in no time.

Hi Guys! Man, I was really missin ya'all! I'm really glad to not lose the friends that I met on HF. If I can help in any way please ask. I would have been happy to pay a subscription rate to keep the old site going if I had known the difficulty.

The old site's owner had problems with the money and the commitment. You know what, this site is free and I have the interest.
The day may come where we can go to a privatly owned website (such as the old HF). I think that would give us a better chance at getting more members. I would like to see how this site does and if it can get onto the search engines.
My main concern was getting a forum up as quick as possible before our old members lost interest or found something else. This site should probably not have been open for at least another week, so there will be changes occuring every day for a while. But I am very optimistic about our future here so long as proboards is committed.

COMMITMENT.....That's it, Red!.
From what we have been knowing each others so far, i feel that you are one person with a strong commitment, and i believe you will maintain this site okay, progressive, etc.
We, as the member, imo, must also have strong commitment.....i.e. how to make this board alive and interesting.....Probably posting as much as we can/the best we can, share our experience/knowledge/etc, and always make improvements. Making a new site is probably easy (i guess?), BUT HOW TO MAKE IT ALIVE IS MORE MORE IMPORTANT. Of course we need to gather old members, along with new members. (i don't know how myself, but i am sure you know how).
If i can suggest....do not make too much forums/category because in turn - they will "spread/diverse", then the more less the posters at the given category. It's better to have just some categories (you decide what etc), so that all members can/will read most of the threads - in not so much category. That will make most of the members "involved" - wether he is interested in just one or two category (like me). Shortly, the more the categories, the less the posters in each category, as i can see. (Except we have already much/a lot of members, with special interest etc). As for the paying the website, like what happened to the old HF forum (?)....IF that's really the problem, to be honest (in my heart) i want to give the auction's money to help the payment.....But it's gone now...and don't know how... I am not sure if this site must pay (what is "Proboard"?), but if it must....annually or so(?), i think we as the members can help.

Well Red with this being your site and the history of the old threads gone, lQQKs like you can start life all NEW!!! I just wouldn't know what to do if I didn't have to defend myself everyday!!! Sebastian's post is a very good one. Proboards is set up with a different and more difficult way to search for new posts. So members will actually have to navigate through the forums a little more. I am trying to clump these forums together a bit more than the old site. On the other hand, I think the site has to have all it's bits and pieces together (ie a variety of forums). I do understand this site will be rather unique compared to other sites in the fact that this is really one freaking big chat room as opposed to a discussion forum. Conversations go from one thread to another and back again - so if you fail to read a thread you can be missing out on something. But we'll try to do this the best we can. We should have a welcome forum up sometime tonight. When we get a good member count in a few weeks, we may look at expanding the big game forums a little. I don't think there's a whole lot of interest in big game though besides deer.

I have been reading what you have wrote about the old site. As all of you remember the very first site administrator was Don Goins. I busted my butt to get him what he wanted cause I knew he did not have very many years ahead of him. I talked to the doctor and Don did not know I did that. But I needed to know. So in turn I bought him expensive things and worked a lot of hours to get them for him. Before, during and after Don died there were some folks that took things out of the house while I was at work and even when I was home. So Don making a " WILL " I should have used it for other things, for what good it did. His Thompson Contender that I got him and helped him repair was taken from me 2 days after Don was buried. That is really low and the reason I got for that was to pay back the money that was sent up here was a loan not a gift. That came from his own flesh and bloods mouth. There were many things taken that was to be personal property and there I was told that Don said they were to be put in a safe place but actually I never got anything from the gun room back and never will. So his kid actually stole all the gun reloading machine the dyes and everything you need to relaod with. Enough on that. Some of you may know more on this than I do. But they that took things that was not theirs to take, may they have many sleepless nights for what they did. Don is probably turning over in his grave he said all the kids would turn on me and that they did. I could tell you a lot but this is all I am saying. The things are all gone and have a good idea where most of the stuff went but can't prove it and can't never get it back. That is why I hope they have sleepless nights.
