Has the start up of all sports been postponed or delayed due to the Corona virus? I haven't heard anything about baseball which surely would have started by now. What's the story?

Baseball has been delayed, for sure. Last I heard, baseball was hoping to play about half the season, starting in July. Lots of talk about how to conduct sporting events during the pandemic. Fans in the stands? Empty bleachers? Some fans? Who knows? NASCAR has been conducting races with no fans. The NFL is still deciding what to do. Dunno about NCAA football.

It sure appears that the outlook is bleak!

Baseball is now planning on a 60 game season, starting in July or August. The NFL has postponed the Hall of Fame game until next year. So far, looks like the NFL wants to try and do a full season, although I've heard talk about not playing preseason games.

I would think the real issue here, for any sports, would be whether or not to allow any spectators in the stands.

I'm sure that's a major factor, Dovehunter. Dunno how MLB or the NFL is going to handle that. Or the NCAA, either.

Minor league baseball has canceled the entire season.

That is disappointing but not surprising. I believe, at least for the foreseeable future, that spectator sports will probably be like they were back during WW2 where games & seasons were canceled because everyone was involved in the war effort. I guess we'll just have to wait to see how things play out (no pun intended).
