10 years ago I bought a box of 375 h&h on clearance because it was $20 and they made me smile.
Since then, I've been on the lookout for a traditional looking safari type rifle at a bargain price. Last week I placed a minimum bid on a Model 70 1998 SCI 25th Anniversary Super Express in pristine condition.
I was fortunate enough to have bought it. I have held the same gun before at the local Cabelas (at an outrageous price) and the iron sights lined up perfectly and reminded very much like my buckhorn sights on my sidelock. I am not going to scope this rifle as it is over 9 pounds already. It's going to be my wallhanger that I occasionally deer hunt with. God willing maybe I will make it to Africa someday and use it for its intended purpose.
