As of the 1st of the year I retired. I was informed by my wife (retired 3 years ago when her job was phased out) that I was not to mess with her schedule. I have been creating my own routine and getting a lot of things done. So far retirement is agreeing with me.
I had a couple of large projects to get the garage completed. I put plastic up in the garage portion on the ceiling. Once that was completed I put tongue and groove strips on the ceiling of the workshop. That is now done. It is now time to build something in my wood workshop.
On the firearms side recent purchases were a Ruger Blackhawk in .44 mag and a Ruger AR 556 rifle complete with 10 x 50 scope. I have spent some time lately at the rifle range. In the middle of the week there is hardly anyone there. I am getting it dialed in for Texas. It seems to like 77 grain better than the 55s or 62s.
With my fall in November of 2015 I can no longer fully straighten my left arm losing about 15 degrees to get it straight. That eliminated deer hunting with my compound bow. Last weekend I picked up a TenPoint Turbo GT crossbow at Cabela's. They didn't have the target I wanted so that is coming from Amazon along with a case. I should be able to take it to the rifle range to shoot if there is no one there.
Last weekend I also took a Utah concealed carry class and submitted my application. A WI CCW gives me a lot of states but not Texas. Utah will allow me to concealed carry in Texas.
We are about a month away from heading to Texas. I have been working on getting the fishing equipment and the boat ready for the trip. It was beginning to feel like spring with a few days in the upper 60's. Back to reality this morning with snow. Just got to love spring in Wisconsin!
