The farmer finally cut and bailed his hay on our favorite field for groundhogs. It's the first we've been able to hunt there since April because the grass was about 18-24 inches high. We saw a few and my son shot a huge one at a little over 200 yds. with his 22-250. It still amazes me as to how destructive those Sierra 50 gr. Blitz King bullets are. That hog was completely eviscerated. The Sierra 55 gr. Game Kings in my .223 will do a number on hogs but nothing like as destructive as the Blitz Kings. I am looking forward to so more good hunts while the grass is still short.

Now is the time! The first day after a hay cut, I think the woodchucks forget the grass isn't long enough to hide them.
