I have always been a big Terry Redlin fan. He paints a lot of hunting and/or wildlife pictures. I love his skies. I've got several of his framed prints scattered throughout the house. Anyone else like Terry Redlin or have a favorite hunting/wildlife painter? If so, who?

I don't have any prints, but I would say Redlin is my favorite as well.

Nationally-known wildlife artist James Meger seemed to live life to the fullest. But like the old saying goes, it's not what a person takes from this life, it's what they leave behind. In Meger's case, it's an amazing legacy.
With his family by his side, Meger, 69, lost his battle with cancer Thursday afternoon in Edina.
"A very decent man has left this earth and he will be missed," Meger's wife Laurene and daughter Elise said on his CaringBridge site. "Rest in peace, dear Jim." Those who knew the artist best describe him as a passionate, kind and giving man who enjoyed making connections with people and sharing stories with them. Meger, who was originally from Minneota, told a story with every brushstoke on the canvas.
"He was a wonderful man," said neighbor Hedy Holmberg. "It will not be the same without him here. He was such a gentle, gentle spirit."
His paintings not only spoke to countless people across the country, but Meger also built lasting relationships everywhere he went as well. Dick and Jeanette (Winter) Stoks, now of Shakopee, attended school with Meger at St. Edward's in Minneota.
"He was lots of fun," Jeanette Stoks said. "Lots of times, he'd come in late when he was out hunting before school. He also did a lot of doodling in grade school, and the nuns would get upset with him and tell him to put his pencil down. But it paid off for him."
Can't believe he has been gone 3 1/2 years...
