picked up two 1.5x4.5x33 scopechiefs yesterday. the guy just got them back from bushnell a few months back having them refurbished since they have a life time waranty. the scopechiefs were bushnells top of the line before they bought baush&lomb and aquired the Elite series of scopes. anyway they sure are a clear scope and got them for 20.00 a piece. when i get a handirifle in .243 for my sons they are going on top of it. the other just may sit on top of my ruger m77/22 for a while.

Jim, if you want to really see what your 77/22 does, you need a lot more power than 4.5X.

red i know, and i have it too. but it's sitting on top of my 7mm. when i find the right scope for it then i'll take that one off and put it on top of the m77/22. but for now as far as squirrels goes that scopechief would be dandy. the .22 has a real cheap 3x9x33 tasco on it now and the cross hairs are too thick for my taste not to mention the clarity of the optics are blazenly average at best.

I have a couple Scopechief's in 2.5 - 8X that I have had for a long time, since the late 70's. They have been a good rugged scope. Great optics but not real accurate adjustments. But, for an eastern whitetail hunter that sight in his rifle and never touches the scope, they have performed flawlessly.
I still remember what I paid for them, $78.00 each. They were on a big sale at the grand opening of a local gun shops new store. Geesh! Wouldn't it be nice to buy a scope of that quality today for that price, brand new?

Bushnell Scopechiefs for $20. each? They are excellent scopes, and for that price it's a steal. I agree with Scott. The adjustments can cause you a bit of grief, but once you get it set up you're away and running. I've had this same difficulty with several models of Bushnell scopes, but it's never been anything I couldn't live with, more of a nuisance than anything else, but $20., wow! Best wishes.
