I hope it will be better than last year. I shot a grand total of 2 doves. So far I haven't found any of our usual places that have planted corn. I am going to go out tomorrow and do some scouting. Hopefully I will find a decent place to go for the opener on Monday. Good luck to any of you that are planning to dove hunt this season.

I am looking forward to my first dove season. New York was one of the few states that had no dove season.

I don't think they were in the St. Louis area. Either the hot weather a couple weeks back or the rainy weather this past week pushed them all out.

My son and I went for the first time Sunday afternoon (I still can't get over being able to hunt on Sundays). I think we saw a grand total of 5 birds, none of which were close enough to have shot. So, for the most part, we just sat in my truck (which overlooked the fields) and listened to football games on the radio. There just haven't been any doves around here to speak of for the last couple of years. Any of you doing any good?

The dove season in Georgia is split into 3 parts, of about 2 weeks each. Next one opens the 11th of October. I got one hunting in during the first segment - saw quite a few birds. Only got 1. I have a lot to learn when it comes to dove hunting.

Din't get a Lic. for this year but maybe I should have as the doves are still around, maybe not in huge numbers but well enough when the season is much longer than many past years some years they all migrate soon after the season opens but this year over 5 weeks and their still hear.
