So my oldest son is in town for thanksgiving and today the three boys and myself went out and shot some clays today. My youngest son used the Beretta, the middle son used his SxS I got for him for his Eagle Scout and the oldest shot the new but very old model 97. I'll be dang if they all didn't do pretty good. The oldest busted about 15 and he hasn't shot a shotgun in over 4 yrs. The middle one hit 17 with the SxS and his very first time shooting it. Even I shot decent today, it was a good time by all.

They think with surgery the best I'll be is where I'm at now with some pills and pain patches that are working decent...
So staying the course seems to be the best thing unfortunately.

Why depend on meds when it can be fixed? The damage to liver and kidneys from the various drugs to help serious issues like yours is not an IF, it's a WHEN. The advancements in spine surgery the last 20 yrs has it to the point of equivalent to having your tonsils removed.

They said I'd be all fixed up after my hip surgery...turns out it wasn't the problem at all. So I'd hate to go through another surgery only for it not to be the problem again...

Back on the clays shooting topic we went out again yesterday and shot a quick round, I shot the sons SxS this time and was very pleased with how well I hit with it. The youngest son used my Beretta and really tore them up, so much so that he's getting that glassy eye "I like this gun" look. I had to remind him, it's my dang gun!

Oldest son and I hit the range again yesterday in the cold but not windy. We shot 2 rounds a piece but before hand I had him go to the pattering board so I could show him where his POI was in regards to his site picture. I had him do that with both guns. He was amazed to see how much difference there was between two diff shotguns. We were using the Beretta and the 97. It helped him a lot when he went from the 97 to the Beretta the second round and he adjusted his site picture and allowed for the higher shooting pattern he got with the beretta. Maybe he thinks the old man might even know what he is talking about, .....heck who am I kidding.

Just had the grand opening of my new trap range last thursday aug 14th with some of my family, We shot up one full rack of 150 clays for the very 1st time. Everyone did well but all we found could miss as well LOL. Tony my son inlaw from CA. was hear also Jeff & sean. I bought this trap at an estate sale about two years ago but only now finished the Offical Range. It is layed out so I could also build a skeet range on it as well, but I don't know if I ever will as I dought if the trap range gets much use even. I don't keep the machine in the trap house but in my shop and I just pull it out with my lawn mower. But it's nice to have my own atomatic trap in a house and permanate shooting stations I can mow over also put in 5yd &10yd stations for muzzel loaders.
