Well here we go again....... As you all know EHD was very hard on my local population of Whitetails and Brainworm was also hard on the Mulies in 2012....... I actually have seen more deer while Pheasant hunting by Bounce's than at my place!!! Sooo it remains to be seen how this year turns out.

Things are SLOW but we're still knocking a few over...... It's hunting again not just killin'. Northeast Nebraska's deer harvest is even lower this year than last year. Full Moon and crappy weather aren't helping.

This is the last weekend of rifle season. Josh and Jess are headed back in the trees with their bows. Allie and I will still rifle hunt, our permits are also good for Muzzleloading so we can be picky. Besides WE HAVE MEAT !!!! Temps are going to be highs of 20's lows of single digits....

I went to a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission "Deer management" meeting last night. For northeast Nebraska the 2013 deer harvest is 21% lower than 2012, and 63% lower than 2011. So as you can see EHD was worse than the state tried to say before this. Of course they said it was worse in some areas than others, they pointed to north of Center, NE and said that appeared to be hit the hardest in the state. I really didn't want to lead the state in that statistic!!!
