I did some trading and picked up another Geha shotgun in 12 bore. Now since Bill sent me the first one for a bolt head repair I have had 9 of these in the shop. I have managed to get all of them up and running and evry one shot where it was pointed albiet with more than a little recoil as they are light guns made for Euorpean 1 oz loads. All the ones I have had either Geha or Hard Hit Hart were smoothbores with from a 26 to a 27 1/2" barrel and all but one were full choked.
I have heard that these were unsafe because they didn't have locking lug contact at the front of the action but they lock on the third or safety lug of the Mauser and there is more locking area than on the Mossberg bolt shotgun and the lug location should make these stronger.
As a test I took a gun destined for parts due to a rusty barrel and fired five 3" magnum shells through the gun with no damage to the gun so they can't be all bad. I do measure the chambers as some were made in 2 1/2".
Anway the latest one is the best one I have gotten and iit was the cheapest too. I put just a hundred bucks in this one and the bolt head is complete and nice and sharp. I have used a Geha for a turkey gun as it's light to carry has a full choke and you are only firing a couple shots at most. I don't know if I would like to shoot a roound of trap with one of these though?
Now for hunting guns I have a Geha and a Husky.
