No not the turd New Model but a REAL Old Model Single six with the XR3 grip frame and unmodified. Trigger pull as is 3 pounds. 5" barrel and locks up tight as a drum. It walked into the shop the other day and i guess i willl either have to price it real high or just keep it, it's a shooter, works like a real gun and it shoots where it looks.
I bought one of these in 1969 and then foolishly traded it off for a Colt as I thought the Colt was a REAL gun. The Colt never did shoot as good as the Ruger.

I have one of those same Old Model Single-Sixes. Mine is a Super Single-Six with 6-1/2" barrel and interchangeable cylinders. Some years back I bowed to Ruger's request to send it back to the factory to have that stupid transfer bar system installed - big mistake. I have hated it ever since. Unless you raise the barrel after every shot that stupid transfer bar falls foward and hits the firing pin so you can't cock it. Fortunately Ruger sent me back the old parts with the gun. One of these days I'm going to take it to a good smith and have it put back the way it was originally and by gawd that's the way it will stay from then on.

Dovehunter, your cylinder pin is not in right. If the pin is in right a small spring on the end retracts the transfer bar.
I don't know IF you can put the old parts back in now after they modified the gun.

Bastardized rugers............ And ruger 3 screws...........................aaaaaahhhhhhhhhuuuuggggg... I should have invested in colts. My 3 screw blackhawk has not really increasted in value as compaired to inflation. Dad picked up a 32 H@R mag single six. He is not a pistol guy. He just figured it was strange and worth an investment for the future. Better than 1 or 2 % intrest on money in the bank. Back in the 1980 i should have picked up a couple more of these at just a bit more cash than the rugers. Currently this colt diamond back is worth about 4 times what i purchased it for. I don't dare shoot it much since I have no drag line on the cylinder. I have plenty of 22 handguns to forfill my needs for shooting but we could not help outselves to see what all the hype was about. They are sweet. The rugers shoot just as well but ruger still akes them and Colt is out of the revolver market.
