I was out shooting league Sunday, I started on station one and shot 5 straight, #2 I shot 5 straight. #3 I shot 5 straight. #4 I shot 5 straight. I got to #5 and thought hmm I might get my 25 straight this time and that was all it took. I missed 1 and drilled the last 4 when I got my head back in order. Its all concentration. Then the wind picked up and was about 25-30 mph and they looked like they were on an elevator. Shot a 22 at the handicap line and then went back to the 16 and that was when the wind really picked up. Those birds flying to the left I would get on them and ready to shoot and they would catch the wind and go right and I would still be swinging left when I pulled the trigger. GRrrrrrrrrrrrrr. When I got to the 5th station you should of seen those birds going right. Man they were smoking. Good thing about it was that I was really concentrating and got every one of them. Ended up shooting a 21 on the 16 and a 22 on the handicap line. I was pretty happy with that one. Still an armature though as I watched to guys in their 70's shoot and they dropped only one bird each. Both of those were birds going left into the wind and then went right when they were pulling the trigger. The guns they were shooting were worth more than all the guns on the line on the team I was shooting on. ;D Can't say that gun value was what makes them good though. Seemed to me that either one of them would of done well with an 870 Rem.

Bounce,
What you can do at home by yor self is no measure of what you can doo head to head with a line full of people. I learned that early on, I could shoot real good by myself but when the range officer said "Ready on the right" and there I was with 20 other people it was a whole different story. I firmly believe that any comprtition shooting is mostly mental control after you have learned the basics. I still find that if I am on the line and can't shut out everyting but the target I will not shoot as good.
By the way 410, 410!!! after you bought a $1200 trap gun! Why aren't you shooting the golden O/U ?

Jack - I suspect that I have had ADD my whole life. ;D Ya it affects a person but not as bad as a person would suspect. The only place I ever really noticed it was in school as it will really blow a test. WOOPS Use to piss my teachers off tremendously as I would score way high on my IQ tests and then come in with really low grades. Rather than figure out what the problem was it was way easier to just kick me out of class. ;D I enjoyed a lot of things in school that a lot of other kids didn't get the chance to. ;D ;D ;D ;D D-D the reason speed works as you lessen your chances of your mind wandering. Yup the faster the better. Plus the adrenalin rush helps a bit too. I'm in the same boat Bill as is my middle son. However we got my son help in 3rd grade. he went from scoring in the upper 70's in standardize testing to scoring in the 97%- 99% in later grades and is on track to be a crackerjack of an engineer one day if he continues to persue his dream when he goes to college after next year. for people who get down on folks for haveing their kids on meds, well when it is really neccessary it can and does do wonders. oh and the little prick is an intense wrestler too. ;D

I'll tell you this it's a lot easier to shoot good alone or on your own home range than in a group. The strees of trying to do well with oters watching seperates the men from the boys. I remember 99.6 because that is what I shot every qual and practice session for the pistol team. I would get to the last shot and see a fly in the outer ring or something and say OH I Blew it and then pull the last shot. Then we had Old Bob from Yankton at the M/L range who would mess with your mind every time you needed a good shot.
Bill the cure here is visulaization, see in your mind, squeeze off that flinter and, shit he flinched again!
