Thinking of trying one last thing to salvage my 357. It currently has the larger 3 groove rubber grip which may be causing me to hold the gun inconsistantly.
So for $20 I was thinking of getting the smaller compact grip. Originally, I did not care for this style - didn't feel comfortable. However, with it being smaller, I'm thinking it could force my hold to be the same from cylinder to cylinder.
Have you found any difference between the two?

I am a huge fan of the Hogue Monogrips. I have a .45 Colt Blackhawk for which I worked up hot, .44 mag equivalent, loads for deer hunting. They shot well enough but, after every trip to the range, my hands were all bruised and bloody from those utterly useless cowboy-style grips. I tried a set of the Hogue Monogrips (only about $20) and I couldn't believe how they tamed the recoil. Those full charge .45 Colt loads now felt about the same as mid-range .45 ACP loads (the gun has the accessory .45 ACP cylinder). They also gave a much larger, more comfortable hand-filling grip. Try a set. If you don't like them, I'll be really surprised.
I have never shot any handgun well with the small grips that usually come from the factory - the smaller the grip (with or without finger grooves), the worse I shoot it. I also put larger, target style grips on my Ruger Security-Six and my .45 ACP 1911 clone. In both cases I was able to hold and shoot the gun better. IMHO most people shoot better with larger, hand-filling grips, unless they have really small hands.

My hands are not large. That said I still like the rubber grips on revolvers that kick. The monogrip are well thought of. My old model 60 I replaced the grips that came with them and I think Bubba has them now. I did not like the wooden ones at all.
Do you dry fire it, Does it seem to pull to the right and groups follow.
