Bounce pretty much nailed it. Most shotguns any more are over choked to the point that a Modified choke any more will shoot as tight as one of the old Full choke barrels will. My favorite choking of all time is skt 1 and skt2 which is between a cylinder and a light mod choke. That makes a gun a killing machine. I own two of the Hastings barrels. One is a straight rifles barrel and the other is a smooth bore. I also own a Metro barrel for them. They are for a Remington 1100 and one is a 2 3/4" barrel and the other is a 3" barrel. One of the best loads I have ever used was #6 Hevi Shot in a 2 3/4" load 1 1/8 oz. I was shooting ducks and geese with that load and my Buddie was using a Remington 10 ga using steel shot and I was knocking ducks and geese down further away by far than he was and doing a better job of killing them. That stuff shoots TIGHT. Would be awesome on Turkeys. Also I was using a Modified Choke. ;D

I would try a lighter load before I went hunting you might just get a tighter pattern yet! You also need to try a couple different shot sizes, with luck you coould end up with a 60 yard gun. Of course you will have to call up a turkey and then chase him far enough away to shoot him...

Of course you will have to call up a turkey and then chase him far enough away to shoot him... That IS a problem !!! More than once I've had them @ my boots. Course you just say BOO!! Then shoot em when they get far enough away for the pattern to open up. Fun to do w/ rookies, they're eyes get bigger and bigger while they're waitin' for the sign to shoot. Makes for great stories afterwards.....
