Weaver style aluminum. I'm looking at putting them on a 30-06
I'm a little leery with them being aluminum
Are they good rings?

For around 11 dollars they are about as good as 11 dollar rings get. I think the weaver quad locks are a bit better but they are almost a dollar more. With these kind of rings I always have them pull tto the left and right when i tighten them. Hard to get the crosshairs on the hozontal correctly. A pain but you can get them to lock in eventually. I have put the weavers and the rifleman rings on slug guns and they never failed (with a bit of lock tight) and that is more recoil than a 30-06. I used to scope up tons of Indiana deer shotguns. That beening said I like other types. They are 6 times as much as the rifleman rings but if you have one good scope and a few guns you can move it on over without much of a problem. works great with my contender barrels as there is not much of a differance in the barrel conture. I have them on my marlin 44 mag scout scope where if it rains hard or snows I can use the backup peep. I have tested putting them on and off and they do return to zero without a problem for deer hunting. swfa.com/Warne-Maxima-Quick-Detach-1-Rings-P9915.aspx
