If Red ain't interested then the rifle has a chance at being a keeper.... I've long thought Rugers were over-priced. It appears this rifle is no different. Figure you pay about 80% of msrp --- what's that come to --- like $360ish? The Savage Axis is a very buyable rifle and costs $75 less. I sincerly doubt the Ruger is going to be worth the extra money. Even the $257 Mossburg is a decent rifle and would satisfy the needs of 90% of the deer hunters in the US. I just don't see the need to overpay

yes Red the Rugers are over priced. but anything made in the USA will be. I myself would rather pay more $ and have all of that $ stay in the U.S. then have most of it go over seas.

;D Ok, so Ruger came out with a gun to compete with Steven, Marlin,Savage, S&W, TC and now will be Ruger. Their at a price point where most people can afford to buy in at during these times of little increase in income or in some cases no income. I know Rugers rifle sales have been dropping off and Savage is making really great inroads into everyone's sales. Its just a cheap replacement for their low end gun that can compete as right now its compete or get lost. I have no problem with that. It has to be better than the Rem 710 or 770. At least they don't weigh a ton. Also this is the first I have seen of them.
