IF you watch the video closely and look at the break down of parts I would almost swear its a Maxus dressed up in hat and tie or Maybe a Maxus in A5 clothing. That sure ain't your daddys A5

Yes no blow back barrel. Different action.
Still got the HUMP to sight over. Most of the waterfowlers I know uses plastic furniture on the shotguns.
Last year my 870 was the only pump, only 2 3/4 inch 12, and only walnut stocked gun in the field. Well the mossburg bolt action goose gun might be walnut under the camo spray paint.
I still like the video.

You know, I never did like the A-5, why would I like a Maxus that looks like a A-5. Looks like Browning is trying to play off their past guns that sold well and just reconfigured the Maxus. Maybe because the Maxus does not sell all that well. In past years Browning was the top selling shot gun forever. Then they dropped the A-5 and their new auto's became also ran's. Don't think this is going to get them back on top. Especially if it weigh's as much as the A-5. ;D Everyone nowadays wants a Benelli.

Benelli that is what 4 of the 5 of the guys i goose hunt with use. They love them.
That bolt action goose gun from marlin not mossburg and it is one ugly shotgun but it knocks the goose down well. He shoots it well. I have watched him deer hunt with it in the past also. The spray paint camo job would make PBR a happy boy.
Heck i will just stick with my 870 but this year i have to break out the mag cause i have 3 inch steel BB's i got at a garage sale. I hate taking off the coyote scope to shoot geese since when we get a flock in my 2 3/4 puts them down well. The regular 870 has not been drilled and tapped for a scope and the mag has. Maybe i just keep the steel bb's and get a couple of boxes of 2 3/4 bb's or 2's.
The Extra full 32 inch barrel loves to throw lead bb's at coyotes.
My dad's A-5 light 12 belgium was the first shotgun i ever shot at a tree rat. (Only because i was having trouble shooting it with a 22) the newer purchased belgium is in perfect condition. Dad's could use a good resoration job. Then again it has been his only shotgun (untill the last few years or his dads model 12when he past) he has used in the last 46 years. The wood on the light 12 shows lots of scratches.

If you want to get the A-5 restored and want it perfect contact Arts Gunshop in Missouri. He use to run the repair facility for Browning and knows what the gun should look like when finished and how it was originally done and it is very very hard for me to tell if the gun is original or not when he is finished. Anyone who deals in A-5's knows Art and his work. Its perfect.

At your suggestion I called art when we bought that salt wood superposed. Unfortunately i decided to sell it off because it was about 700 to restore .We did pay for over 50% of a great gunsafe with that sale.
I think since we have one perfect and one as a user I might well wait till dad has gotten a lifetime of use out of the shotgun then if art is still around send it in to him in memory of dad. I believe mom bought it for him or their first anniversary present. He just started using one of my marlin 1894 for deer lately for a little more distance over the smooth barreled shotgun and since he has had both shoulder redone the less recoil the better for him. I think he would still like to use the auto 5 for deer. I think he uses the marlin because i gave it to him.
