Well I'm selling this rifle
Someone is willing to buy the rifle and rings for $375 but he can't do it until after his taxes come back. Pain in the ass but he wants to put a $50 deposit down.
So I thought I'd shop it at the local gun store who offered $200 and Cabelas didn't even want it. I asked Cabelas what it would retail for, they said $250 and I almost laughed outloud because I've seen the lesser version with a tag over $400 before.

Well I ended up selling the package for $475. I figure it's a 50 dollar hit but oh well. That money is long gone. I bought a game-used NHL hockey jersey last month that set me back $600 so I paid myself back

Red, just curious, why did you not want it anymore? Was it just needing some fast cash or did the rifle not pan out in terms of quality?

Red, just curious, why did you not want it anymore? Was it just needing some fast cash or did the rifle not pan out in terms of quality? It was giving me some problems typical of the older 742's. So I figured I better pass it on while it still had some life left for the new owner. In other words, a half broken gun is easier to sell than a totally broken gun
