About a year ago I wrote about making a turkey gun for DD and how when we cut the barrel on the 870 it was bored off center. Well DD traded the finished full choke gun in for a real 24" vent rib 870 turkey gun. In the meanwhile I took his old gun and mated it with a 3" 20" rifle sighted slug gun barrel I had and converted the action to 3". Then I took the rifle sighted cylinder chooke barrel and converted it to screw in chokes and it has I/C M F Xfull turkey extended and a rifled tube for slugs. I still need to bead blast and re parkerize the action and then the gun will be a new turkey and deer special. I may even put on a red dot for deer and close in turkey since the x f choke puts out about a 10" pattern at 30 yards. Attachments:

AaaHHHHH so that is where he is spending his discretionary money at. ;D I'm working on building me a turkey gun also. I picked up a Rem 1100 for $37.26 to build it on. Guns action is a magnum action and so is the barrel but someone took the gun and smacked it against a tree. Broke the butt stock off and also the recoil spring and tube that goes inside of the butt stock. I have a complete set of wood and an extra barrel for it already along with all the other parts it needs but its going to cost me $45 to have a new tube brazed in and replace the spring and the rest of the pieces inside the tube. I have been thinking of building one to be used for three gun matches as a friend of mine wants me to get into a 3 gun competition with him. Easy to convert it back and forth which is a great thing about the 870 and the 1100 and they can be done cheap. I also have a Bushnell Holo sight and a B Square mount to go on it too. Would make one heck of a turkey gun set up that way. The only thing I wish I had was a 20" barrel with rifled sights and screw chokes but I will find one.
