Since the slosing of the marlin factory i have been rather silent on the subject. I figured that in time the new marlin rifles would be about the same quality as the old marlin rifles.
I did see a 100 dollar marlin 795 win a special shoot at the club. One shot at 25 50 and 75 yards with distance to the X measured and added for each shot. I mean it was 3 shots but his were very close shots to say the least. I did not look at the rifle to see year of make but it seemed he unpacked it that day. The box was on the tailgate and the plastic bag was on the box.
I went to my local gun pusher cause he called me and asked to check out the new marlins he recieved from his distributer He know I am a fanboy and he said he ordered one just like my limited.
I was looking and found this.....
No my speelen is not the best. but ,,,,, If they don't care what is on the box what do they care what is in it. I know they don't make the boxes. If things go right I am getting the box that is misspelled. His distributer is sending out a new box when marlin sends one. You should have heard him on the phone.
I will admit that the fit of the stocks seemed to be much better on these than the first rem buy outs. I think they were useing seconds untill the stock ran out. I hate the marshield finish but a couple had good looking walnut under that finish.
He had one of these which looked like my special limited rifle. He ordered it because he liked mine so much.
16.5 inch barreled stainless and big loop factory with scout scope and XS sights. Laminated. The problem the price was over 1000 dollars. I am glad i got my limited years ago. It seemed the demand for the little levers to be customized and the aftermarket ability to do so made rem/marlin bring out another product line to meet that demand. This one was in 44 mag and I did not snap a pic.
