I have a buddy who has taken several pd's over 1K with a Tricked Contender handgun in 222 Rem Mag AI (1-7 or 1-8 twist). I think he was using 75 or 80 grain A-max's. They died well. It may not be realistic. We will just have to wait and see. E Let me tell you, it really pisses them off when you hit them. ;D ;D ;D I was out with one of the guys that works for me last year and had hit one at that distance (400) and Matt said don't do that again or he will come over and open up a drum of whup ass on you. ;D The PD was really pissed off but he didn't know where it came from as those .22's with a 26" barrel are really quiet. Sound more like a pellet gun than a .22. I think you have to hit them just right with a .22 to kill one past about 350 yds, just don't know yet what that just right spot is. Funny thing is, with the .223 I am out to 636 and a lot of people think that is a long distance to shoot PD's but I really think I can do 750 with it and maybe a bit better than that but just haven't had the chance yet. 55 grain bullets do get blown around a bit at those ranges and you really need to work hard to read the wind. At those distances it seems the bullet does not open up and just knocks them over.

I would like to build a .223 with a 1in7 twist so I could shoot those JLK 80 grain bullets I have. Things look like pencils their that long and thin. I know guys shooting those out to 1000 yds accurately but my 1in12 just won't stabilize them. I would like to have another .223 so maybe I will just have to build one or cheaper yet, just go buy a shhh Savage.

My Savage 10FP has a 1-9 twist barrel. I have been told it would shoot the 75 grn A-Max well. But I have yet to try it.
