I'm not familiar with Flickr but there is 2 ways to post a picture here (and on most other forums)
1. Is to do as you mentioned and click the "insert image". When you do this, it will display img with brackets. You would then copy/paste the "direct url" inbetween the brackets.
2. The other way is to side step the the "insert image" and just copy/paste a EZcode which contains everything that's in #1. You just bypass the img/brackets because the EZcode has them in it. But you're still using the direct url.
Bottom line, what you're looking for is the direct url. How easy Flickr makes that on you, I don't know...
I hope that gives you the answer you need. If not, let me know what you find out and we'll try it again. If all else fails, you can do a file attachment here. It's not recommended because we only have so much total file size but also because going through the photo hosting companies allow you to post multiple pics any place you wish within your thread.

Hold on, I'm having problems...ok I got it... Ok, I didn't think I had a Flickr account but apparently I do. When you're on the home or photostream, it shows your pictures. (I don't have sets or gallories so I'm not sure how that will work with you). Anyways, when you're on the photostream page you can right click on the photo and you will see properties. Click properties and then you will look for Address. That address is your "direct url" I spoke of. So you should be able to click on "insert image" on here and copy/paste that direct url inbetween the brackets. Let me know if that works for you...but what a pain in the butt Flickr is...

Red: I finally got it to work but it was like pulling teeth. You're right about FLICKR being a pain the butt to use. I may try using one of the other hosting services shown in Scott's post or the one jmarriott mentioned. Thanks for the help.

I guess it's not too terribly hard after you figure out how to do it. It does take a few more steps than some other hosting sites.
I guess it depends on how many pics you have and if it's worth the trouble tranfering them over or having multiple accounts.
