The RSI is a sweet little gun. Also the reason I loaned it to my dad and the reason my sister took off with it. I let her know in no uncertain terms where the owner lived and that he knew where it was at and he didn't mind tearing her door down to get it if needed. ;D ;D We came to terms. ;D You don't see many RSI's in #1 as they weren't real popular when they were new but after Ruger dropped them everyone wanted one as it seems all the Ruger #1 collectors are looking real hard for them. Also a great little gun.

They don't make it in a lot of calibers. And, as you say, I never see one around, other than mine, either. They aren't particularly light, but they sure are compact- the #1 RSI is a bit shorter than a Winchester 94 with a 20" carbine barrel. not to steal this thread Jack but feel free to post a photo of yours. and by all means if you ever decide to get rid of it let me know in advance!
