Been waiting till the first frost of the year to start my tree rat harvest. Going to walk the local wood edges and look for scrapes also. Do a little road scouting and local farmer asking about bucks. The high winds we had yesterday have thrown the leaves to the forest floor and all of the fields are empty. Should be a nice weekend.
Looks like it will be the model 39a as my lifetime handgun permit has not yet arrived. 2 bad as my browning and ruger handguns are just punching paper lately and need a real workout. Maybe soon I applied on aug 5 and the said 8 to 16 weeks, I must be in the slowest county in Indiana to get one.
Looks like I will have two hours on Saturday morning and sunday most all day. Would like to see a full harvest limit of 5 red fox rats. going to sight in tomorrow night maybe friday if this wind dies down. Should only take 2 shots to check.

frost in on the pumpkin right now in Indiana,
My lifetime handgun permit arrived in the mail last night. My Rossi 357 is loaded and pack in a holster, a trip to kinko's is in order to have copies made and laminated. (I am getting 10 one for each car range bags bug out bag the original is going in the safe) and out to dad's tonight to shoot the 22 pistols to see whiick I am going hunting with.
Handgun tree rats with deer scouting this weekend can get any better.

This computer said 32 degrees as I turned it on this morning, I think this is really are 1st frost as well, light but no dought frost in most places is likely. I did some cellibrating yesterday and brought home a super nice old german .22 classic with scope from T/M's and we tryed it out on my new tumbling target, both worked great!! I think 2 moons will be makeing his own target soon. Also suckseeded in buying a brand new old stock model T rear Truck wheel for $125 bucks so I'm feeling good this morning, at least till I go see the eyeball mechanic at 10:00 am LOL.

Frost Heck! Since it was 25 degrees when I left town this morning, I would call it a hard freeze.

4 am Indiana here the time shift of pre deer season has taken place in my house. I get up to be at work at 7 with long drives anyway. So the getting up an hour a day earlier is no big deal.
The heater is on so my wife must have gotten cold last night. I just turned it on to make sure it is working and Noticed that the filters could use a little attention. A couple of new ones were purchased. 34 degrees right now.
I had to dial in the pistol it was not hitting where it was crossed on the scope. Daughter shot a pumpkin with the 22's
