Saturday we had a bass club tournament on Puckaway. I and another guy in the club were fishing up river in one of the narrow parts.
I was fishing the east side bank and the other guy was fishing the west bank. My side of the river was going to get shallow so I was packing up to go down stream a ways. The other guy continued to pitch jigs at the west bank.
3 guys were idling down the river so I stayed put to let them pass between us. The river at that point is probably only 50' wide with 1/3 of that taken away by a sand bar. While they did go past they pulled up sideways in the river 20' in front of the guy on the west side. I am sitting there just shaking my head when one of the guys comments to the guy that got pulled in front of........."We're just walleye fishing!"
So evidently that must give them the right to pull up in front of others. That is a new excuse?
Maybe I am expecting too much of others to be caring and courteous to others.

Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder if the guy that jumped off the dam into the river was 'just walleye fishing'. . .

Jack, I think that would fall into the "chumming" category.

I've always wanted to go walleye fishing.. they look a lot like our sea trout and I imagine they fight about the same. I've also heard they are excellent table-fare. One of these days, I'm going to find a spot to go fishing for them.

Walleyes, other than if they get to the 5-6# mark and above, are not the greatest fighters but they do taste good!! The tell tale fight of a walleye is a head shake and that is about it.
