Our buddy Dean is a tad retro, he hunts with traditional flintlock muzzleloader and long bow. His long bow is hand made and he has been making his own arrows for years. Last year he had a friend chip him some flint arrowheads and he killed his deer with them. Now he has imported some obsidian and is chipping his own and intends to kill his deer with his own hand made arrow heads. He is also working on a flint knife. I suspect that by next year he will be working on an alatal and a bone tipped spear. Attachments:

I have seen arrowheads made of glass. Sharp little blades. The obsidian i believe is volcanic glass and much tougher.
I thought i was old school archer with my aluminum arrows and overdraw 1995 bow.

The latest is that Dean will be going to Texas in October to film a program for Backlands Outdoors. He will be hunting deer and Hogs with home made hand chipped flint arrows from his hand made long bow.
